The motto of KHS is “Tueri et protegere Equos” (To serve and protect horses). The business was started in order to improve the wellbeing of horses that we deal with. We do not sell or endorse products that we do not use on our own horses first. This is why we want to tell you about ArcEquine.
We have used ArcEquine on our horses for over fifteen years. We purchased the first version, and part-ex’d it when the 2nd generation was launched.
Our horse Monty is was diagnosed with soft-tissue navicular aged 9. A few years later, he badly injured his check ligament. The vet said it was one of the worst cases he had seen. A few weeks later, he said that it was one of the fastest recoveries he had seen.
Monty is now 24 years old and still hacks out happily. He competed in Hunter Trials, Arena Eventing and Showjumping until aged 23.
Our other horse Oakie had ISLD surgery for kissing spines aged 15. Later, he injured two suspensories and an impar ligament. Oakie is now 23 years old, still hacks out regularly, and used to compete in Hunter Trials and Arena Eventing until aged 22.
We firmly believe that regular treatment with ArcEquine has extended our horses’ working life due to the improved recovery that this device propagates.
Arc Microtech also offer a human version called Arc4Health, which we use on ourselves to speed up recovery from injuries.
You can save £30 off the price of any complete kit (ArcEquine or Arc4Health) by using the code KH6HFE. Please make sure to mention KHS Master Saddler in your comments at checkout!
So how does it work?
The bodies of mammals such as humans and horses communicate with themselves by electrical impulses called bio-currents. Bio-currents tell your cells what to do – among others, they cause cells to produce ATP, which is vital for tissue-repair. But injuries often disrupt the bio-currents, which reduces the production of ATP. This slows down the natural healing process.
ArcEquine produces microcurrents, which are too weak to feel. But they mimic the naturally occurring bio-currents of the body, and stimulate the production of ATP. This eases pain and kick starts the healing process.
Accelerated healing has a lot of benefits:
– the sooner the body starts healing, the sooner it is finished
– if an injury heals faster, the risk of further injury due to strain on weakened tissues is reduced
– tissue that heals faster stays stronger and more supple, with reduced scarring
The ArcEquine device has 4 different settings, which create a treatment programme that combines pain relief and tissue repair. The first setting has a stronger focus on pain relief, and each following setting shifts this focus more and more towards tissue repair:
Setting | Pain Relief | Tissue Repair | Treatment Duration |
1 | 75% | 25% | 1 week |
2 | 50% | 50% | 2 weeks |
3 | 25% | 75% | 3 weeks |
4 | 0% | 100% | maintenance |
The manufacturer of the device, ArcMicrotech, also produce a version for use on humans (Arc4Health).
